Chaau Dance Performance On July 21, 2024, Kshetra Kalari had the honor of hosting a captivating Chhau performance by the Indian Chhau Dance Youth Association. This esteemed group, hailing from the internationally renowned Seraikela Chhau tradition, performed under the expert guidance of Adhar Kumar, Director of the Indian Chhau Dance Youth Association from Jamdih, Saraikela Kharsawan, Jharkhand. The event was a vibrant showcase of cultural heritage, bringing the unique and dynamic art of Chhau dance to our audience. We are committed to promoting interculturalism and folk art practices across India and intend to host more such theatrical and folk performances for our audiences. On July 20th and 21st, we had the pleasure of hosting Kalaripayattu workshop for the students of shashvat concept school, Maharashtra. Our aim was to instill body awareness and promote well-being among these young learners. We are thrilled to welcome our young warriors to the world of Kalaripayattu and wish them the best for their future endeavors. The Kshetra Kalari family is growing, and we are excited to bring more workshops for students of all ages. On June 23, 2024, Kshetra Kalari had the privilege of conducting a dynamic workshop on Yoga and Kalaripayattu for the enthusiastic students of St. Anthony’s Government Aided High School. This event was organized in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Pondicherry, aligning with the theme for 2024 – “Yoga for Self and Society.”The workshop aimed to introduce the students to the foundational practices of Yoga and Kalaripayattu, focusing on their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Maneesh Mohanan, the students eagerly engaged in the sessions, demonstrating a strong interest in learning and applying these ancient practices in their daily lives.The interactive event concluded with a vibrant discussion allowing the students to reflect on the enriching experience. Kshetra Kalari remains committed to spreading the knowledge and benefits of these traditional arts to younger generations, fostering a greater sense of self-awareness and community through such collaborative efforts.
